Art Talks

Today I was lucky enough to be able to hear a talk by artist Sarah Perry.  She does amazing work that is so original and unique.  Sarah is also truly a character and her lively personality was a joy to listen too.  In her lecture she stated something that resonated with me and I would love to share.  She told us her definition of an artist and I find it to be an exceptional definition “you need a leap of faith to be an artist”.  This is so true there is nothing guaranteed about being an artist, but if you have made the decision that creating art drives you, and then you need to just take that leap of faith… So I’m leaping :-)  I wanted to share some of her work below.  I also was lucky enough to see a talk by artist Gustavo Godoy last night.  He was truly inspiring.  The lines of his work were so moving and all I could think was wow this in metal would be exceptional.  HAHA.  He gave a talk that was inspiring and his work was so amazing I was quite inspired to create and I went home and did two sketches inspired by his talk and work.  I will show you a few of his works below as well.  Enjoy!
